Harlem Globetrotter

We were so lucky to have Firefly Fisher come to our school and teach us the ABC's of bullying. Our class was especially lucky because our own Sarika was called on stage to help with the presentation. She did an excellent job!

Free Park Entrance

An exciting offer has been made available to all fourth grade students and their families. The U.S. government has started a campaign titled, “ Every Kid in a Park” for the 2015-16 school year to provide every Fourth Grade student and their families free access to our national parks.   The goal of the “Every Kid in a Park” initiative is to inspire fourth graders nationwide to visit our federal lands and waters, battlefields, landmarks, and historic sites.  What a great connection to our Fourth Grade Social Studies curriculum as students explore New York State!

The pass entitles the fourth grade student, all children under the age of 16, and up to three adults, free admission to the park.  Below is the website for you as well as additional listings of National Parks in our area and beyond.   Passes are good until the end of August so trips could be encouraged during the December, February, April or summer breaks.

The National Historic Sites within a 100 mile radius are:
Saratoga National Historical Park
Saratoga, NY

Martin Van Buren National Historic Site
Kinderhook, NY

Franklin Delano Roosevelt National Historic Site
Hyde Park NY

Vanderbilt Mansion Historic Site
Hyde Park, NY

Farther away….

Fort Stanwix National Monument
Rome, NY

Women’s Rights National Historic Park
Seneca Falls, NY

A list of all the National Parks in New York is available at:
