High School Performance

CABARET 2012
Shenendehowa High School presents its annual Cabaret program on Friday May 4 at the High School West Auditorium.  The performance starts at 7:30 pm and tickets can be purchased at the door for $5.00.  Cabaret 2012 features talented singers from Shen’s outstanding music department in an entertaining evening of favorite musical theater selections.  Included in the evening are songs from Guys and Dolls by Frank Loesser, The Wizard of Oz by Harold Arlen, Cinderella, Flower Drum Song and The Sound of Music by Rodgers and Hammerstein, Show Boat by Jerome Kern, and The Gondoliers and Ruddigore by Gilbert and Sullivan, The Boys From Syracuse by Rodgers and Hart, Oliver by Lionel Bart, Brigadoon by Lerner and Loewe, Chicago by Ebb and Kander,  The Fantastics by Harvey Schmidt, The Man of La Mancha by Mitch Leigh, Company by Stephen Sondheim, The Secret Garden by Lucy Simon, Legally Blond by O’Keefe and Benjamin, Jane Eyre by Paul Gordon, and Mamma Mia! by Andersson and Ulvaeus.  The program is directed by Heather Baird and Jon Streker.

A note from our PTA

Call for H-E-L-P…..  The Scholastic Book Fair is only a few weeks away, May 14 – 16.  Our PTA is still in need of volunteers to work.  If you would like to work at the book fair, please contact Lisa McGlynn.  The fair will run daily from 8:00 – 2:15.  You can be there for as little or as much time as you like!  Also a couple more volunteers are still needed to work during Celebrate Reading Night on May 15th from 6 – 8.  If you are interested in volunteering, please

This week’s Math topics:

·         We’ll continue spiraling through our math concepts that have been taught this year. 
·         NYS math test preparations
·         Please make sure that your student has had a good night’s rest, a full breakfast and is on time to school Wednesday, Thursday and Friday!

This week’s Science topics:

·         We’ll continue exploring simple machines.  We’ll create each machine within a small group.
·         Last Friday we discussed Earth day in length focusing mostly on air pollution.  We began an experiment on air quality in school that we’ll be checking on throughout the week.  Our final report will come out Friday.
