Dog Lover Alert!

Bruno the therapy dog is coming back to the Cohoes Public Library!! Bruno was such a hit that he was invited to come back regularly, every other Saturday at 11am, starting on April 7th. So head on down to the Library to see and read to Bruno again.  He'll be there this weekend Saturday the 5th!!

Bruno is a loving and patient dog who enjoys listening to children read to him. Bruno offers a kind and non-judgmental ear that can put children at ease and help them gain confidence in their reading.  Bruno was rescued by Out of the Pits, a rescue and educational organization for Put Bulls and is certified by Therapy Dogs International.

The school budget vote is May 15 at Gowana Middle School

This week’s ELA topics:

·         Writing – writing about 1 topic using LOTS of details
                        -  "Can the reader infer your meaning?"

·         Grammar – Comparing adverbs

·         ELA – We’ll resume our reading workshop where we read to self and read to someone

·         Spelling – add –ed and –ing to base words

This week’s Math topics:

·         We’ll begin a focus on money.

·         Counting money – change and amounts

·         Uses of money

·         Saving vs. spending

This week’s Science topics:

·         We’ll wrap up exploring simple machines.  Wednesday and Thursday we’ll have lab days where we’ll create simple machines

·         Test Friday!
