Celebrating a birthday is an important part of being 9 (or 10)! If you would like to bring in a treat to celebrate please keep these things in mind:
- Fresh fruits and veggies are always a good choice.
- PLEASE PROVIDE NAPKINS.
- Treats are for our classmates only. We are not allowed to pass treats out to other classrooms. We have 20 students.
- Please do not send in anything that needs to be cut.
- Please send items of only one flavor or color. It can be time-consuming (and heartbreaking for some!) if there are choices of flavor and a particular student does not get what he or she hoped for.
- If possible, individually wrapped snack items are very much appreciated, but not required.
Non-Food Options:
Some students have chosen
to send in a small gift in lieu of an edible treat. If possible or preferred, please consider sending in
pencils, erasers, stickers, or any other small / inexpensive item.
If you have specific concerns
about which types of treats are best for your student or our class, please feel
free to contact me or our school nurse.
Birthday Party Invitations:
Student's may hand out invitations if the entire class is invited or all boys / all girls. Please understand that distributing birthday invitations to select members of the class causes hurt feelings among students. I apologize for any inconvenience, but this has been a long-standing building procedure that all teachers follow.
